The contestant on this week's Piano Puzzler is Susan Liebeskind of Atlanta, Georgia. The piece of music is one of the more bizarre, because of its sheer bombastic nature. I'm not giving anything away -- that will be clear from about the first note. And that alone helps guess whose composer's style the music is. The hidden song is another matter. Not only did the contestant not get it, host Fred Child was clueless, as well -- as was I. Yet the thing is...the song is quite well-known. But hidden amidst the bombasity, even when toned done, it's hard to find. But fun.
