Okay, one of the disadvantages of living on the West Coast is that when you get up in the morning, get ready for the day and then get around to checking the news, it's been flying around already.
So, it turns out that Robert Mueller filed charges against Mike Flynn today. And given that it was only a single charge of basically lying to the FBI, my initial thought was that that means he made a big plea deal. Then came the story soon after that Flynn has now officially plead guilty. Further, ABC News reports that "Flynn promised full cooperation to the Mueller team and is prepared to testify that candidate Trump 'directed him to make contact with the Russians.'" Perhaps, in the words of press secretary Sarah Huckabee sanders, this will elevate the conversation, too, and help us get to a far-greater truth... So, is the report true of what Flynn is expected to testify to? Let's put it this way -- what we know is true are two things. 1) That Flynn only had one charge filed against him. And 2) Flynn did plead guilty. As I said, with both those things being the case, it is hard to imagine that he didn't make some plea deal to get such a limited charge. And it further is hard to imagine that Robert Mueller let him get reduced charges for flipping on someone below him. And as former National Security Director, there weren't many people above Michael Flynn. But...we'll see. The only other question I have is whether or not Speaker Paul Ryan has his personal decorator call the White House to get dimensions of the Oval Office. Oh, and one other thought. Boy, I sure picked the right day to post that article about how Robert Mueller works! I'd been holding on to it for a few weeks, since other news was taking precedent. Sure glad I didn't wait until tomorrow...
