An ad for MSNBC by one of its hosts Melissa-Harris Perry talks about spending more money on public education. This has brought about a lot of hand-wringing by the far right. (What a shock, yeah, I know. And only one whole day after my column about my theory that the Republican Party has long been against education.) What stood out was a comment by Ken Shepherd of the conservative website, Newsbusters. He said that "the notion of collective responsibility for children was a philosophy that undergirded the Cultural Revolution in Communist China under Chairman Mao."
I'm guessing Jesus, too.
