This comes from late in his life and isn't perhaps the very best of Bergen -- but it's still a treat, and what I like about it is that it shows off his strength: characterization. His technique was hardly ever great (indeed, he often joked about it, or had Charlie McCarthy do so), but it was how my made his partners seem so lifelike. And this video features him with his three main ones -- Charlie, of course, but also the little-seen spinster Effie Klinker, and it ends with perhaps my favorite, Mortimer Snerd, who gets most of the time here.
So, at last, some Edgar Bergen.
