Back in March, we wrote here about a new documentary starting to make the circuit, Brave Miss World. The film tells the story of Miss Israel, Linor Abargil, who weeks before winning Miss World was raped, and how from that point on dedicated her life to become a world advocate of rape victims. Eventually, she got a conviction of her rapists, and that only is a part of her remarkable transformation. The documentary is directed by Cecilia Peck, who also serves as one of the producers.
Tonight (Tuesday, March 19), Ms. Peck appears on The Last Word with Lawrence O"Donnell. For those who'd like to see the repeat airing on MSNBC, it airs again at 10 PM in Los Angeles, 1 AM in the East. Her segment begins 45 minutes in the broadcast and lasts for the remaining 15 minutes of the show, which includes one of the survivors featured in the film, along with fascinating footage. (And also an adorable photo of Cecilia Peck as a little girl in the arms of her father Gregory at the wrap party of To Kill a Mockingbird.
