The actor playing Curly is a touch thin during his acting scenes, pressing a bit too hard, though he comes across with a pleasant, ingenuous sensibility. But his singing -- and everyone's -- has been just absolutely wonderful. There's still plenty of time to catch the rest of the first act and Act Two. It's 6:40 PM in Los Angeles as I write this.
I'm sitting here listening to the Lyric Opera of Chicago live broadcast of their premiere of Oklahoma! Curly and Laurie are just now singing, "People Will Say We're in Love." Obviously I have now way of telling the staging, scenery and costumes, but the audio production is wonderful, far better than I expected. (I know the Lyric Opera is great, I just didn't know how well Oklahoma! would translate to opera voices.)
