In its 11-page plea agreement, the department noted very clearly: “The Government has uncovered no evidence that your client violated federal law with respect to the House computer systems."
To reach a plea deal, Mr. Awan agreed to a completely unrelated charge of wrongly signing a bank loan application, but with no jail time. “This has cost me my reputation, my livelihood, my family. I can’t believe this," he said, and then adding, “The president used me to advance his political agenda.”
