George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, whatever their strengths and weaknesses as people, have statues raised to honor them for being Founding Fathers of THIS COUNTRY. Confederate Generals, whatever their strengths and weaknesses as people, have statues raised by those who honor them for attacking it.
There's a difference.
There's also a difference between violent hate groups causing domestic terror like the neo-Nazis, KKK and white supremacists -- and the groups they are attacking, bombing and killing who feel compelled to defend themselves from being attacked, bombed and killed. But that's another matter entirely. For now though we'll just stick to basic History 101.
