This is a 1954 production on the Colgate Comedy Hour of Cole Porter's classic Broadway musical, Anything Goes. I've posted clips from the show before, but one of the many revivals, that with Sutton Foster. What makes this TV version so special is that it's with the show's original star, Ethel Merman. She played the same role in the 1936 movie version, but given the relative unavailability of that, this becomes a treat. Plus, it's done as a stage show, live. And for all the "grande dame" persona that she took on later as she moved deeper into Legend Status, this is Ethel Merrman at her peak, and she's joyous.
And making it all the more fun and special, starring opposite her is none other than...well, you can see below -- Frank Sinatra. And the number they perform together is the wonderful title song.
