To help celebrate the day, here's a wonderful but little-known offbeat love song, "Love is the Reason." It's from the 1943 musical A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, with a score by Arthur Schwartz and Dorothy Fields. And sung by Shirley Booth, an Oscar-winner for Come Back, Little Sheba, but who many TV viewers in the 1950s likely remember from the sitcom Hazel.
