This was probably my dad's favorite Father's Day song. (And I don't think there's any "probably" about it.) We had a tradition on Father's Day -- I'd call, and sometimes he'd jump in as soon as I wished him Happy Father's Day and not want to delay things a moment longer, and sometimes I'd intentionally push things past the greeting and start chatting for a few minutes, starting a conversation, waiting for him to finally cut me off and say, "The song!"
And of course, I always, knew what "The Song" meant.
It meant Harry Ruby's song, "Father's Day."
