Upper management of Elisberg Industries is off to Chicago for our Summer Retreat. The elves at the home office will be overseeing the place while others are gone, so -- with fingers crossed and a prayerful look up to the heavens -- here's hoping all goes well.
All has not gone well for the flight out. I have a reservation on American Airlines, and just got an email that the flight has been delayed. What's odd is that it was delayed a half-hour...but will get into Chicago an hour late. Though this is hardly the worst delay in the world (if it stands at that), it cancels my dinner plans. They were with my aunt and uncle, both in their 90s, and this pushes my arrival back long-past the reservation and (more to the point) too late for when I know they'd want to eat. The is a very outside chance that I might possibly be able to join them mid-meal -- although that's if everything goes far-better than anticipated (like the airplane only getting in a half-hour late to be consistent with it leaving a half-hour late, and the pilot trying to make up time), after which connection timing on the ground is perfect. Since this is about travel plans that have already been screwed up, that's like finding a needle in a haystack...and then trying to find thread in there, too -- and then threading it blindfolded. I should get in during the early evening now (hopefully), though don't know when I'll next be able to get in front of the computer, but with the time difference being two hours ahead in the Midwest, I should be able to post something here during the mid-evening Los Angeles time, though (through the magic of technology) will try to schedule something to be posted earlier.
