After having posted the finale and curtain call the other day, here’s one last video from that 1983 Broadway revival of Mame with Angela Lansbury recreating her Tony-winning performance. And to finish things off, we reverse things and go from last to first. I don’t know the stage production well, but I’m pretty sure that this is Lansbury’s entrance in the show. I say that because the song is “It’s Today,” which I know comes near the top, and from the audience’s reaction when she appears. The video comes from press reel footage from opening night, edited with footage from the bootleg. So, the quality ranges from mediocre to excellent.
